Our structure

As Warrington Partnership has many members and priorities, it splits the work it does between several groups.

Warrington Partnership Board

The Partnership Board is the visioning group of Warrington Partnership. It is in charge of producing the Sustainable Community Strategy and for making sure that the targets we set ourselves in the Strategy happen. It is also in charge of consulting with the local community and local businesses to make sure our priorities are the same of the people of Warrington. Members of the board include representatives from the public, third and private sectors. We also have a mixture of specialist knowledge on the Board, so for example we have someone who knows about children, someone who knows about community safety, someone who knows about regeneration and so on.

Delivery Board

The Delivery Board is focused on making sure that actions happen and the Partnership is performing well. It is responsible for helping the Thematic Groups (see below) achieve their targets by identifying solutions to problems or poor performance. It is also responsible for pulling together and monitoring the Local Area Agreement. In order to make sure they can achieve this the membership of the Delivery Board is made up of the Chief Executives (or equivalent) of the main public sector agencies, one representative from the private sector and one representative from the third sector. By bringing together the people that can access the major resources of the town, partnership working can be strengthened.

Closing the Gap Framework Programme Board

The Closing the Gap Framework Programme Board has been tasked by the Partnership Board to oversee the partnership's approach to tackling inequalities in the quality of life for our most disadvantaged communities.  Through the Closing the Gap Framework it aims to lead, integrate and focus all the associated activities that our partners carry out.

Thematic Groups

To help target work on specific projects and issues there are five Thematic Groups:

It is the role of the Thematic Groups to co-ordinate the work and performance monitoring of specific themes and priorities.  Each group is made up of a range of partners from all the sectors that have a role to play in the delivery of services and projects.  Each Thematic Group has its own co-ordinator, structure and way of working. But they all work to the same meeting schedule and performance reporting cycle.

Neighbourhood Management Boards / Area Boards

Learning from the Stronger Together in Warrington pilot project, and other local experience, Warrington Partnership has now rolled out neighbourhood working across the Borough.

In areas of greatest need a neighbourhood management approach is being established whilst a 'lighter touch' area co-ordination model is being applied in areas which face fewer challenges. Together they cover the entire borough, bringing the advantages of neighbourhood working to all of Warrington's communities.

The Partnership itself, as well as individual partners, are committed to neighbourhood working. It set up a Neighbourhoods Programme Board with membership drawn from a range of partners, which has overseen the roll-out of the programme, and reports to the Partnership Board and the Council's Executive Board on progress. Neighbourhood Boards in each area have been set up, with membership split equally between residents, service providers and community representatives and chaired by a senior member of the Partnership (Council, PCT, Police and 3rd Sector). Neighbourhood Managers / Area Co-ordinators have been appointed for each area.

Third Sector Hub and other local partnerships

Finally Warrington Partnership links in to a number of other partnership organisations both within and outside of Warrington. For example Warrington's Third Sector Network Hub plays a key role in the work of the Partnership and provides a voice for Warrington's Third Sector.
