Engaging Warrington
Warrington Partnership wants to ensure that local people are encouraged and supported to have more influence and power to change and improve their lives.
We have developed a strategy called Engaging Warrington, that sets out how we plan to do this. We have a vision that states:
"By 2010, Warrington will be recognised as one of the best places to live and work in the UK, where everyone enjoys an outstanding quality of life."
We, as a partnership, but also as public service providers, can only achieve this by engaging local residents, businesses and other stakeholders in our planning and decision making.
Our approach to engagement
We engage with our different communities in Warrington in different ways, for example:
Neighbourhood areas - to ensure local people and stakeholders have a say in the way services are delivered in their local area, Warrington Partnership has introduced a new way in involving residents and businesses called Stronger Together Neighbourhoods in Warrington. This approach, called nighbourhood management allows communities to work with local agenies toimprove services together at a local level. Communities of special interest and identity - groups of people who come together because they have something in common other than where they live or work. Warrington Partnership works with a range of groups from across the third sector to ensure different communities of interest and identity are involved at all levels of decision making. Service users and non-users - members of Warrington Partnership from all sectors provide services to the public. We need to make sure that we are providing the right type of services that are effective, efficient and easily accessible. Businesses - local businesses have a crucial role to play in the development, prosperity and wellbeing od our communities and Warrington as a whole. They need to be involved in the decision making process at all levels if we are to realise our vision.Co-ordinating engagement activity
